In 2016, the Saginaw Bay Watershed Restoration Fund awarded a grant of $4,200 to the Heart of the Lakes Center for Land Conservation to finish up a series of videos about the Saginaw Bay Area.

The Center is focused on engaging the younger generations in conservation. They believe that conservation for conservation sake doesn’t resonate as strongly as it used to. Their focus for this video series is “place”: Places create stories. Stories make connections. Connections engender caring. Caring leads to action.

By creating stories and experiences in natural landscapes, people can begin to connect with and care about those spaces.

Below you can watch the two videos that Bay Area Community Foundation was able to provide funding for completion.
