The Foundation is concerned about the community as a whole. We fund a wide variety of projects and programs, such as arts and culture, community initiatives, education & youth, the environment, health & wellness, human services, and recreation. Semiannual grants encompass several different funds and committees which make grants in specific fields of interest. Contact Joni King prior to applying.

Alzheimer's Endowment FundSupports projects and programs which enhance the quality of life for Bay County Alzheimer's patients and families.
Animal Welfare FundSupports projects and programs that benefit the welfare of animals in Bay County.
Arenac Community FundWill accept grant applications for projects and programs which impact Arenac County.
Arenac County Healthy Youth/Healthy Seniors FundWill accept grant applications for projects and programs that benefit the health and wellness or Arenac County residents.
BACF Human Services FundSupports programs in Bay County that assist and/or empower individuals and families to prevent, alleviate, or better cope with crisis, change, or stress. Priority will be given to organizations working to meet the basic needs of area children and infants. Applications are available during our semiannual grant cycle.
Bay County Healthy Youth/Healthy Seniors FundSupports projects and programs that benefit the health and wellness of Bay County residents.
Carol C. Noeske Arenac County Disability FundSupports activities in the furtherance of, and directed toward, serving all needs of physically and mentally disabled persons, their families, and associates in Arenac County.
Catherine and John Maser Historic Preservation FundSupports renovations, maintenance or repairs of historically significant buildings in Arenac County. Grants will not be awarded for operation costs.
Civic League Endowment FundSupports Bay County programs that provide services to women, children, and families. Applications are available during the spring grant cycle only.
Community Initiative Fund (General Unrestricted)Supports projects and programs which benefit Bay County. Examples of past grant areas include, but are not limited to: arts and culture, education, environment, recreation, human services, and health and wellness.
Dow communityGivesAllows elementary, middle, and high school age groups, sports teams, and service clubs in the Great Lakes Bay Region to earn funding for priority projects through volunteerism.
Dow Corning Donor Advised FundSupports projects which improve scientific literacy through increased access to math, science & technology education; improve vitality and quality of life in Bay and Arenac County; and/or improve awareness and increase utilization of sustainable, innovative technologies.
Education Mini GrantThis is a grant opportunity for Bay County educators to purchase innovative supplemental materials for their classroom. Only 10 grants, in amounts up to $300, are distributed each calendar year. Contact Joni King to discuss your proposed grant.
Elizabeth Husband FundSupports Bay County programs that provide holiday season activities. Examples of such activities are, but not limited to: food baskets, clothing, and children's toys. Applications are available during the fall grant cycle only.
Environment FundSupports efforts to educate and engage citizens; evaluate, protect, and improve natural areas and resources; and build healthy sustainable communities.
Flood Family Historic Preservation FundThe purpose of this fund is to provide support to qualified non-profit, education or government organizations for historic preservation, rehabilitation and reconstruction projects within the city of Bay City, Michigan. Historic building preservation, rehabilitation, restoration and reconstruction projects within Bay County, Michigan limits will also be considered. Grants will not be awarded for general maintenance such as minor repairs or operating expenses, however, special projects will be considered.
Leslie L. Squires FoundationSupports organizations with programs that benefit children and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities that reside in Bay County.
McGillivray Saginaw River Improvement FundSupports projects which will result in permanent physical improvement of the Saginaw Riverfront in Bay County.
Nathalie Awrey Memorial FundSupports projects and programs that benefit physically challenged children under the age of 18 and are residents of Bay County. Grants are awarded to programs to support physically challenged children with movement, vision, hearing, or health issues that have created barriers in fully participating in society.
Northern Bay County Endowment FundSupports projects and programs in Northern Bay County. Grants are only awarded to local nonprofit whose programs impact Northern Bay County.
Oscar P. & Louise H. Osthelder Advisory FundSupports projects and programs which benefit Bay County. Grants in the past have included but not limited to large bricks and mortar type projects.
Saginaw Bay Watershed Restoration FundSupports environmental projects, water quality improvement projects, watershed plan development, and capacity-building throughout the Watershed.
The Dow Chemical Company Foundation Donor Advised FundSupports projects and programs that align with one of the Dow Community Success priorities of education, economic development, environmental stewardship and enrichment.
Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)Will accept grant applications to fund projects that directly benefit the youth (18 and under) of Bay County. Previous grants were given to projects that improved youth's quality of life through health, safety, education, and recreation.
