NONDISCRIMINATION IN GRANTING POLICY At the Bay Area Community Foundation, we take our role as grantmakers very seriously, and seek to maximize the community's resources for all people in our community. We are proud to stand behind our policy of nondiscrimination, as we make a difference in the Bay area and beyond!
PURPOSE: Bay Area Community Foundation seeks to promote access, equity and inclusiveness, and seeks to discourage discrimination that denies the essential humanity of all people.
POLICY: Bay Area Community Foundation will only provide grants for proposals that do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, weight, height, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, disability or other characteristic protected by law.
REQUIREMENTS: To verify a nonprofit's legitimacy and sustainability ALL applicants will be required to submit documentation of IRS 501(c)(3) status, operational budget for the most recently completed and upcoming fiscal years, most recent audited financial statement (one copy) and IRS 990 form. Applications submitted without all required materials will be ineligible for review.
EXCEPTIONS: Bay Area Community Foundation respects the expressed wishes of our donors. Accordingly, BACF will consider grant suggestions from donor advised funds and designated funds that would not otherwise comply with its policy of nondiscrimination in granting.
