The Trustees and Staff of Bay Area Community Foundation wish to express our thanks to The Dow Corning Corporation for once again providing gracious hospitality and a beautiful setting for our Scholarship Award Presentation.  Dow Corning is a 2008 Business Sponsor of the community foundation – and a greatly-valued friend of our community.   

The goal of the Scholarship Program through the Bay Area Community Foundation is to strengthen our community by creating and maintaining scholarship funds to meet educational needs. Education – arguably one of our most valuable commodities – is all too often funded by debt accumulation. Our scholarships help reverse this troubling trend.

The scholarship funds are created by families, civic organizations, and businesses throughout our area that recognize the value of education and understand how financial obstacles prevent the achievement of educational goals. By providing scholarships to deserving students, we forge a link to our future, offer a vision of hope to our next generation, and make a vital investment in the future of the Bay area.

It is safe to say that we all recognize the gift of education is a gift to the entire community, and it is certainly one that the Community Foundation will always be proud to give.
