Thanks for helping raise more than $176,000 for our nonprofit community!
Thankful is an understatement. We are amazed by the support and generosity shown to our community during Give Local Bay 2022.
The Bay Area Community Foundation provided an additional $25,000 incentive pool as well as $3,250 in fund prizes. Prizes for Give Local Bay 2022 were made possible by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
An additional $300+ was raised through the “Sip, Sip Hooray for Give Local Bay” event held at Bier Garten, Café One 3, Coonan’s Irish Hub, Mulligan’s Pub, Tri City Brewing, Village Inn and Waterstreet Nutrition. Each establishment designated a specific Give Local Bay Beverage for sale during Give Local Bay. A portion of the proceeds from the beverages sold were evenly distributed to all 49 participating nonprofits’ endowment funds.
“Year after year, the support the people of this community provide to one another leaves us speechless. Give Local Bay proves we are a community united, thriving and resilient. Even in the face of economic uncertainty, Bay and Arenac counties responded generously to the call for support from our nonprofit partners. Our community came together and that is what Give Local Bay is all about,” said Diane Fong, president and CEO of the Bay Area Community Foundation.
The organizations that raised the most money during the event are Bay County Library System, Bay City Rowing Club, Camp Fish Tales and Ye Olde Courthouse/Arenac County Historical Society. Final leaderboards can be viewed at www.givelocalbay.org.
Bay Area Community Foundation called upon the community to award an additional prize winner for the “Most Creative Post” after seeing how much effort the nonprofits put into creating content to promote Give Local Bay. Humane Society of Bay County won the staff pick for the “Most Creative Post,” while Hell’s Half Mile Events won the community vote. Both won $250 prizes for their videos which you can view on their Facebook pages.
