The Bay Area Community Foundation was honored to celebrate 69 incredible students from Bay and Arenac counties as they each received a $2,000 Bay Commitment Scholarship to begin their college journeys at Delta College or Saginaw Valley State University. This moment marks the beginning of a transformative time in their lives, and we are truly grateful to be part of their stories.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to our generous donors. Your belief in the power of education and community makes these scholarships possible. You are creating opportunities and shaping futures, and we could not do this work without your continued support.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to some key individuals who helped make the evening so meaningful. Thank you to our Board Chair, Danielle Krupp, and to Dr. Michael Gavin, President of Delta College, and Dr. George Grant, President of Saginaw Valley State University, for your continued partnership and words of encouragement. We are also deeply grateful to our ceremony speaker, Spencer Skorupski, a 2008 Bay Commitment alum, whose inspiring remarks reminded us of how powerful belief in oneself and community can be. And finally, thank you to Anderson Bearden with Complete College Advising who will be walking alongside our scholars in partnership with BACF throughout their academic journeys.
To our students: Congratulations! Be proud of who you are and go forward with confidence. Let’s continue believing in the possibilities, and here’s to your next chapter!

I am proud to serve my community through my role at BACF. As a Program Officer, I collaborate with nonprofit, government, church, and school partners in Bay and Arenac counties to navigate our grant opportunities and find the right funding alignment. From project conception to post-award, I am your main contact for all things grants. Connecting organizations and donors who share the same vision and passion is at the heart of my work.
