Leave Your Legacy

When you make a bequest or other planned gift to the Bay Area Community Foundation, you become a valued member of our Legacy Society. As a Legacy Society member, you are among a visionary group of individuals dedicated to shaping a brighter future for our Bay Area community.

Where to Begin

Becoming a Legacy Society member is a straightforward and impactful process. You can do so by including the Bay Area Community Foundation in your estate plan through your will or trust. Alternatively, you can make a contribution through charitable gift annuities, life insurance, retirement fund assets, or a charitable remainder or lead trust.

Once you’ve made your decision, kindly inform us about your plan so that we can officially welcome you into our Legacy Society. It’s as simple as that.

As your advisor and you draft your estate plan or will, please remember the Bay Area Community Foundation – no matter how large or small your bequest. Following are some statements that can be used.

General or Specific Bequest – “I give, devise, and bequeath to the Bay Area Community Foundation the sum of $___ (or ___ %) from my estate.

Remainder of Estate – “After all specified bequests have been made I give, devise, and bequeath to the Bay Area Community Foundation all (or ___ %) of the remainder of my estate.

Contingent Bequest – “I give the residue of my estate to ______ family member.  If that person does not survive me, I give the residue of my estate to the Bay Area Community Foundation.”

We deeply respect your privacy and will honor your wishes to remain anonymous in your giving. However, we encourage you to consider the inspirational experience of participating in the Legacy Society, as your commitment may motivate others to join this worthy cause.
